Withdrawal Benefits
Members of the Public Service of the Government of Eswatini may be entitled to withdrawal benefits under specific circumstances, including resignation before completing ten years of service or dismissal due to disciplinary proceedings.
Resignation Before Ten Years of Service
According to the law, a member must resign before reaching the ten-year mark of service. Once this threshold is passed, resignation is no longer permitted. However, members who reach this milestone become eligible for either deferred retirement or early retirement benefits.
If a member resigns before completing ten years of service, they will receive a once-off payment equal to their total contributions to the Fund, plus interest at a rate determined by the Fund.
Dismissal or Retirement Due to Disciplinary Proceedings
In the event that a member is dismissed or forced to retire due to disciplinary action, they will be entitled to a refund of their contributions, including interest accrued, as stipulated by regulation 3(4).
